Days without my computer: 15

Hello again!

I have returned from the lazy realms of “Christmas Holidays” and been greeted by the warm glow of lame internet speeds and my computer is off for repair, so no real work for the first few days, unfortunately!

But ignoring this I am ready to work, feeling more confident that I did at the beginning of the last semester (and with no Gateway project weighing me down.) I’m hoping this time things will be of a slightly higher quality and better pace from the start!

So what am I doing?

As I spoke about previously, I had intended to simply write complete design documents for a variety of levels,

This has changed.

While I am uncertain of the specifics of the brief I will set myself, I know that for the next few months, I want to be working in the ‘Unity’ engine.

A 2D and 3D engine that offers much more freedom than the unreal editor, but also requires coding (eck.)

BUT ITS OK! JavaScript is very similar to ActionScript! Which I have some experience with.

The key area I hope to look at is mechanic Creation and Implementation.

Basically, I want to make a fun mechanic, and make a small level based on it.

Prehaps later, I will be able to draw all of these mechanics together into a more full game, but I am currently trying to wrap my head around an engine which, as of writing this, I have NO experience with.

Wish me (and the other suckers stupid enough to work in Unity too) luck, and I promise to bring you something of at least average quality.
