Time for learnin’

With my computer capable of supporting the relevant software returned, I can now begin my decent into insanity... that will be caused by my learning of the Unity engine.

Before I begin working with game mechanics and level design, there are a few key factors I want to get my head around. Hopefully my future diaries will reflect my process of learning these, and they SHOULDN’T take too long. (But probably will.)

I want to at least:
• Be able to import a 3D environment to walk around
• Be able to import a character of my own to play as, and have it walk around the environment.
• Be able to use animations I have created for this character.
• Be able to do all this, but in a 2D plain (Still using 3D assets)
• Figure out the basics needed for a level (Lights, controls, start points)

If I can do this, I am as far as I have gotten with the Unreal editor, if not further due to the freedom Unity allows.
Keep your eyes peeled! Once I’ve got this I’ll be testing out all sorts of game play!
